5 Things to Do This Weekend

The weekend is upon us, just a few more hours of work until it’s time to go home, put on our best party face and head out for the night. But what about the rest of the weekend, got any plans? If not, here are 5 things to do this weekend, especially fitting for you that has decided to go hard tonight and then will need two mellow days to recuperate.

Catch up on Empire.

If you are not already watching the new TV show Empire, I suggest you do so. There have only been 5 episodes so far, so it is not too late to catch up with the drama. The story is about a hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Enterprises, and the drama among the members of the founders' family as they fight for control of the company. Except for some really juicy drama and great fashion, there is also a lot of great music on the show, so be sure to check it out.

Train like an angel.

So after packing on a few party pounds we can all use a good workout, and since it is really hard to find time to get our sweat on during our busy weekdays, the weekends really is the best time to do so. A few years back when I was searching for new fun exercises I came across this one here below by Victoria’s Secret. It is part of a video series where they teach you “how to train like an angel” and in this specific video they teach you how to work out your but like the angels do. I love this workout routine, I always do it when I am working out, and even though it looks easy and like it would do nothing, it really, really, really burns! The next day you will for sure feel it.

Listen to the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack.

Whether you are a fan of the books or are planning on checking out the movie, you should at least listen to the soundtrack. There are a lot of great songs on it by artists like Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Sia and Frank Sinatra, to mention a few. Maybe the song “Did that hurt" could be something to listen to while you work out..?

Read.

“Read what?” you say. Read anything and everything, just read! People don’t read enough to begin with; we have such a short attention span, I mean, why do you think “Vines” are no longer than 6 seconds? So download some books to your iPad or go to the closest bookstore, pick out one you like, turn off your phone, make a big cup of tea and sit down with your books and just escape reality for a few hours.

Cook up a storm.

If you, just like most people, survive on takeout and less than mouth-watering meals, take the weekend as an opportunity to cook up a storm. Invite your girlfriends over and do it together; it is more fun if you are more people, as well as less expensive if you split the cost. Or take it as an opportunity to spend some quality time with your significant other and then light some candles, cork up a bottle of wine and enjoy a quality meal together.
