WHITEOUT

This spring and summer think clean, fresh, white and sporty. We are going to hit that magic spot between chic and sporty; looking comfortable, but also effortlessly chic. Yes, you carry a designer bag, and yes you are feminine and chic, but if someone threw you a football you could juggle that on your knees, while balancing your coffee and checking Instagram.

Do you get what I am going for? Forget about floral for spring! It is time to brighten up your closet, and then I really do mean all the way, it is time for a whiteout!

Wearing silver other than as jewelry might be intimidating at first, but the best way to ease into it is to wear it on smaller details, like shoes and bags. Silver goes perfect with a whole white (or light) outfit, blending into it more than standing out, as it would if you would be wearing black. So if you want to wear silver as less of a statement and more a part of your over all look, do it with white.

A pair of bright white sneakers gives any look a really fresh feel. So if you want to keep it chic leave the beaten up and dirty, old converse at home and go for a pair of spotless white sneakers. To hit that “in-between-spot” with the outfit, pair it with a long-sleeved jersey dress and a bomber jacket. A backpack goes with the sporty feel but keeps it chic by being of white leather, it is all about balance.

A pair of Timberland boots adds some real attitude to your look, but the white color softens them and makes it less casual and more chic. Wear them with a high-waisted grey cotton skirt, preferably with a slits for some sexiness and to balance out the “roughness” of the shoes. Match it with a sporty cropped t-shirt and throw a leather jacket casually over your shoulders to complete the look.

A pair of black and white Adidas sneakers is such a classic sporty shoe (I had my own pair way back in high school), but to take them from the schoolyard to the board room (or at least the office floor) match them with a black and white high-waisted pencil skirt and black crop top. To balance out the sexiness of the skirt and top throw on a bomber jacket and roll up the sleeves. And to balance out the sporty shoes and jacket, top it off with a chic little bag, preferably with a longer strap so you can wear it across your body.
